How to Illustrate and Design a Children’s Book
Estimated Reading time: 3 Minuten

Sometimes people ask me how to design children’s books. The easy, short answer is that I research and draw. But that really doesn’t tell it all.
Designing a children’s book, especially a board book with little or no text, is a big job that comes with a lot of responsibility. The facts have to be correct. The pictures, however, can be fanciful and whimsical. You want to design a children’s book that will make the children want to read it again, and again.
My search and find books — wimmelbooks — do just that.
Recently, the Ludwigsburg City Library asked to give a presentation on how I developed my children’s book „Ludwigsburg wimmelt“. I’d like to share my presentation with you today. It is called „Wo wir wimmeln“, which means in English „Where we meet and teem“.
