Does your heart skip a beat when you catch sight of a search-and-find picture? Do you also feel a little unsure because you haven’t ever commissioned a search-and-find illustrator before, and yet, you feel deep down that such an illustration would be just the right thing for your audience?

Trust your instincts – I’ll show you how simple it is to turn your idea into a whimsical search-and-find illustration in three easy steps.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Get in Touch

Every project starts with a simple enquiry. I am always on the lookout for projects where I can transform facts and ideas into visually nutritious search-and-find pictures. Give me a call: +49 (0)174 183 6831, email me or use my contact form on my website .

That was easy, wasn’t it? And there is no need to be shy. We’ll work together to determine the scenes and motifs that suit your goals. We’ll discuss specific ideas, such as which theme to emphasise and which important details you’d like me to include in your search-and-find illustration.

Tell me how and where you want to use the search-and-find picture. Should it be an illustration that encourages participation, for example guiding your guests or audience on an informative and exciting treasure hunt or discovery? Or should it searve as a learning tool? Maybe it’s meant to communicate your organisation’s story and values?

We’ll talk about your budget. Honestly, it helps me a lot to understand your total budget range for the project so I can create a fair and realistic quote for you. I won’t rob you, I promise – I’m an artist, not a pirate! 🏴‍☠️ 🦜

I offer search-and-find illustrations for many different purposes and budgets – whether you want to have a search-and-find picture created for an exhibition, a magazine or an event giveaway. This way, we can make sure that you can commission your search-and-find picture from me without breaking your budget. I really appreciate your openness –that’s what makes a good partnership.

There are countless possibilities and so many kinds of search-and-find pictures – you can really have it all!

Step 2: Creative Collaboration

Now it gets exciting! In the first step we defined your goals and now it’s time to
turn these ideas into a one-of-a-kind search-and-find illustration.

I begin by drawing development sketches – the old fashioned way with pencil and paper. I design an illustration that is tailored to your needs, for example to highlight an exhibition or a specific artwork, or to explain historical finds in context.

For cities and towns I bring landmarks and history to life – teeming with fun facts and whimsical details to surprise and delight your audience.

At this stage, you can request changes to the layout or the figures. I’ll make the desired alterations and present you with another draft of your search-and-find picture for approval.
Once you (and your team) approve the draft, I’ll start with the final search-and-find illustration, first drawing the line work and then painting the colors.
You’re welcome to peek at the progress anytime.

And when the illustration is bursting with color and life, I’ll send it to you for final approval.

Step 3: The Finale

If everything is fine and you give me the go-ahead for printing, I create the final file for the search-and-find picture and send it to you for print and/or web use according to our commission agreement.
